Weekly Update
Welcome to the Weekly Update. When we think about mental health we often equate this with illness but not wellness. Whilst many of us have to live with long term health conditions there are always things you can do to improve your mental wellness and regain a sense of value in life again. We are always inspired by the feedback we get from you our learners . Please have a look at our blogs page to read the many stories our leaners have written about their wellness journeys. We hope you will be as inspired as we are by them and find the courage to book onto a course or two.
If you would like to write a blog about your experience with us at the College please do get in touch. You don’t have to have written anything before – we can help with that!

Monday 16 September 2024 6pm – 7.30pm 4 weeks at Holmfirth Tech
When facing challenges or difficulties in life, we don’t always know how to soothe or take care of ourselves effectively. Often, we can turn to unhelpful or destructive coping strategies.
In this four-week course, we will explore various soothing techniques and self-care skills to help us find calm during difficult times and help reduce feelings of distress. Through group discussion and with the help and support of our friendly facilitators, we will share creative and useful self-care and self-soothe ideas in a safe and friendly setting, enabling us to share lived experiences, learn from each other and build our resilience.
