Weekly Update
Welcome to the Weekly Update. We are constantly updating our course offer. So please watch out for our weekly updates to see what is coming up! You might not feel motivated to make any big changes or to book on a course but remember that a little progress each day adds up to big results!
Did you know…
In December we had 90% of people rate our course as very good and 10% as good! Our team was described as friendly and welcoming and the tutors were praised for being approachable.
Our teacher was amazing, the classes were fantastic. Everyone should go to classes like this. Brilliant, supportive and very friendly.
Staff are really nice, friendly and non-judgemental. Facilities were wonderful
I honestly cannot think that there is more that could have been done
Our college is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds and lived experience. All of us are leaners and learn as much from everyone who attends the college as they do from us. We believe the voice of people with a lived experience needs to be greater, to create hope and inspire. Please read some of our blogs here written by people that attend our college.
We are using more venues across Calderdale and Kirklees so you don’t have to travel so far to get to a course. We still have courses with spaces in January, and also upcoming in February, so do book on. See below for details.
Remember that Hope Street is now closed. We have plans to deliver courses in the centre of Halifax at Unmasked Mental Health and other venues in and around Halifax and Calderdale!

Weaving Workshop: God’s Eye
Everybody Arts (formerly Artworks), Shaw Lodge Mills, Shaw Lane, Halifax, HX3 9ET
Tuesday 23rd January 10am-12pm (1 week)
Join us for this wonderful creative workshop, where together we will learn simple weaving techniques using yarn to create a colourful, spiritual object called a ‘God’s Eye’ to decorate your home or garden. This craft originates from the Ojo de Dios (Spanish for Eye of God) and is a cultural symbol made by the Huichol Indians of Mexico. The four points are thought to represent earth, fire, air, and water, and the centre provided God’s watchful eye over their people. This one-off session delivered by Sara, our fab Creative Practitioner is a great introduction to weaving and an opportunity to meet other learners in a safe, friendly and informal setting. All materials provided and no previous experience is necessary.
