We are a little early this week but welcome to the weekly update! With less than 3 weeks to the start of the new term courses are beginning to fill up, so get ready, get steady and go – and get in touch to book a place on your preferred course/s or workshop/s. All our upcoming courses can be found on our website: Courses and enrolment – Calderdale and Kirklees Recovery College (calderdalekirkleesrc.nhs.uk) with more being added all the time.
Below is just a small selection of what we have coming up:-
Couch to 5K – Calderdale and Kirklees Recovery College (calderdalekirkleesrc.nhs.uk)
This brand new course, delivered in partnership with Huddersfield University starts on Tuesday 13 September at Greenhead Park, Huddersfield and is designed for those who do little or no exercise. Throughout the weeks there will be plenty of encouragement and support and no-one is ever left behind!
This brand new intermediate course gives learners the chance to try potentially new techniques such as fly, predator and sea fishing. Suitable for those who have attended the previous Go Fish Beginners course or for those who have some knowledge of angling but would like to gain more confidence and experience. Starts on Friday 9 September at Hillhouse Angling Club in Honley, Huddersfield.
A Plan for Living Well (Information session) – Calderdale and Kirklees Recovery College (calderdalekirkleesrc.nhs.uk)
Here is another chance to undertake this potentially life enhancing course. Come along to one of our information sessions on Monday 19 OR 26 September at CLEAR in Huddersfield to find out if the full 8 week course is for you!

Want to know more about the Recovery & Wellbeing College? Well come along to one of our upcoming intro sessions on Tuesday 6 September at the RWC in Mirfield or Wednesday 14 September at Folly Hall, Huddersfield.

We have a variety of online courses available including Mindfulness, Menopause Awareness and workshops on how to improve your sleep, manage stress, manage anxiety and understand Dementia
And watch out for our next ‘Grow Well’ course starting soon in Calderdale!

- If you are already enrolled with the College and want to book on a course then please email us or give us a call and let us know your chosen course or workshop. There is no need to enrol again.
- To book onto a course please email us any time ckrecovery.wellbeing@swyt.nhs.uk
- You can also call us Monday – Wednesday over August on: 07717867911. Unfortunately we won’t be able to take calls on Thursdays and Fridays for the next two weeks.
- Please be patient as we are short of admin staff – so there may be a delay of a few days before we book you onto courses
