The Golden Age of Hollywood: Christmas Special!

Come and enjoy some old-school Hollywood glamour, with a festive twist! Book your seat now for this extra-special, Christmas-themed celebration of the Golden Age of Hollywood! 😊

In this one-off session we’ll be relaxing, munching popcorn while sitting back and enjoying a movie from the 20th Century. This session will take you back in time with a fun and informative talk from our resident expert, Russel, followed by a full-length film – voted for by you!

Your Journey Through Relaxation

Join us for a one-off session exploring what relaxation is, different types of relaxation and how you can incorporate relaxation into your routine. Following this course, you will have learned valuable relaxation techniques that you can use moving forwards and share with anyone else who can benefit from these coping mechanisms.

Snowflakes Workshop

Online – Wednesday 11 December 2024 10am-12pm 1 week- still places available, book now

During this one-off festive winter workshop, we will discover how to create handmade decorations for our homes and/or cards and gifts. Using nothing but a pencil, paper and scissors we will make beautiful snowflake decorations where we can spend a little time focusing on this simple activity and distract ourselves from the stress of the busy season ahead. No previous experience is necessary, and everyone is welcome.

A Gift To Yourself

Come and join us for some creative sessions where you will be able to make some lovely items that can be used as gifts to yourself and others. This will include making your own bath-bombs, tea-light holders, lavender bags, and coasters.

Please note, this venue is in a converted mill, the building is in the process of being improved so that it is more accessible. In the meantime, if you struggle to climb stairs please get in touch as soon as you can and we will endeavour to put adjustments in place. Join us for a fun and engaging 5-week course that combines creativity, self-expression, and mindfulness through the art of simple handmade doodle books. You will have the opportunity to make your own simple books, experiment with different media and create a collection of your very own doodle books that can be used in your own time or even given to someone as a gift. This course is designed for anyone looking to explore their artistic side while supporting their health and well-being in a relaxed and supportive, no pressure environment.

Christmas Celebrations- starting Huddersfield 30 November

Christmas Celebrations begin in Huddersfield on Saturday 30 November when the town centre will be filled with local musicians, attractions, live reindeer, seasonally themed workshops, walkabout acts, a Christmas market and more! And all activities will be free!!

New Street – Huddersfield Christmas Celebrations- Saturday 30th November

New St, Huddersfield HD1 – 11- 4 pm

Back by popular demand, a giant snow globe will sit on New Street as well as real-life reindeer, who will be taking a break from their Christmas deliveries to visit Huddersfield. All to a backdrop of Hepworth Brass Band, who will be filling the street with sounds of a traditional Yorkshire Christmas (12pm and 1:30pm).

Globe Arts Studio Christmas Art Market – Saturday 30th November

Globe Arts Studio, Carr Lane, Slaithwaite, Huddersfield,HD7 5AG

Join  Globe 1 for their annual Christmas Art Market on Saturday 30th November, 11am to 5 pm.

Across 2 floors you will find talented, local artists selling a range of art and crafts, yummy homemade treats from Hollys cooking, plus festive drinks/snacks, and live music.

As always, this is a lovely day out for the whole family, with a great atmosphere and buzz. A great way to enter the festive period in the run up to Christmas!

Dewsbury Market and live music stage – Saturday 7th December

32 Cloth Hall St, Dewsbury WF13 1QE – Sat 7. Dec 2024 at 11am-4pm

Dewsbury Open Market will take on a Christmas twist with an additional 20 Christmas stalls featuring local artisan makers, as well as festive food and refreshments provided by market regulars. All alongside a live music stage with performers and buskers bringing festive cheer to the market.

Project Empowerment- Kirklees Success Centre

Kirklees Success Centre’s “Take My Next Steps” course will help to improve your confidence, employment hopes and wellness, as well as get support from the Employment and Wellness teams if needed.
No pressure to find work, just an approach to breaking down barriers and looking at options for the you of today.

S2R Support to Recovery – promoting positive mental health

S2R Support to Recovery is an independent mental health and wellbeing charity, providing support across Kirklees through a range of social wellness opportunities, nature based and creative activities.

They offer a wide range of opportunities for people to get creative, learn new skills, improve their wellbeing and discover the great outdoors. Their workshops and courses include aromatherapy, gardening, sewing, physical and mental health, wellbeing and outdoor activities, all delivered in safe and friendly environments. Like a foodbank but for mobile data, the National Databank provides free mobile SIM cards for people who can’t access the internet. It is run by the Good Things Foundation but is partnered with O2.
