Mirfield Community Centre, Water Royd Lane, Mirfield, WF14 9SG
Life skills and interests
Join us as we head back in time to the early 20th Century and learn about the Golden Age of Hollywood!
On this popular four-week course, delivered by a couple of friendly and enthusiastic Recovery College volunteers, we will learn about the influential directors in the early years of the movies. Learn about the famous, the infamous – and the less well-known – directors who helped to shape the world of cinema, such as Hitchcock, Hawkes, Curtiz, Wilder and Ford.
Throughout the course, we will watch many famous movie clips directed by these directors, and containing some of the biggest stars of the screen. For the final week we’ll watch a full-length movie by one of these directors. Popcorn provided!
This course is suitable for all learners, whether or not you have previously undertaken a Golden Age of Hollywood course.
