Batik & Tie-Dye
Mirfield Community Centre, Water Royd Lane, Mirfield, WF14 9SG

Life skills and interests
This popular creative medium, originally from Indonesia, is the art of decorating cloth using hot wax and dye, using a variety of objects such as string, rubber bands or coins to make patterns on fabric. Over four weeks, with the help and support of our friendly facilitators, Lizzie & Ali, together we will learn how to master each stage of the batik and tie-die process and create colourful and elaborate designs. Please bring one plain white (or neutral) cotton item, such as a t.shirt or length of fabric, to decorate to the first session.
Please feel free to bring a packed lunch with you to enjoy alongside fellow learners and facilitators each week.
There will be a break for half term and the last session will be on the 4th June
