During this four-week, online introduction to Understanding Eating Difficulties course, learners will explore different types of eating problems, the possible causes, signs and symptoms, where support can be accessed and how to support someone living with an eating difficulty.

Throughout the course, participants will learn about disordered eating, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder.

This course is offered by our colleagues at Wakefield Recovery College and it is for anyone interested in learning more about eating difficulties and how to support their own wellbeing or the wellbeing of another. The course has been co-produced and will usually be co-facilitated by individuals with professional experience and with lived experience, in a non-judgemental and supportive environment.

Please note this course is intended to be educational, and while it will be delivered in a supportive environment, therapy is not offered in this setting; learners will be signposted towards places where further support and help are available.

Some of our Trust teams have spent time with people who have had anorexia and have written stories to reflect their experiences, popping them in this fantastic booklet. Why not take a read before enrolling on this course?
